Rope Basket with handles
In this class, students will lean all the techniques to create their own unique rope basket. Your piece of art can be used to help with organization, home decor, and makes an affordable gift. Techniques covered in this class include: how to start the basket, Adding a fabric center, Curving the sides of the basket, Adding fabric to the clothesline rope, making handles, and how to finish the basket.
Supply List
- Sewing Machine with zigzag stitch
- Zigzag foot and open toe applique foot if available but not necessary
- Cream colored thread to match clothesline
- 2 bobbins wound with matching thread
- Scissors for cutting rope
- Scissors for cutting fabric
- Straight pins or wonderclips
- 90/14 machine needles Topstitch or Denim
- Glue Stick
- Tweezers (optional)
- Tape measure
- Pencil and paper
- (1 ) 5"X5" motif for basket center
- (2) 1 1/4 " Width of Fabric strips that match your center fabric
