Chickadee Landing
Asymmetrical stars dance across a quilt featuring the layered patchwork technique from Lynn Hagmeier and Kansa Trouble Quilters that results in perfect star points that are easily assembled. This class will be taught by Zita Warmke a fun fabulous regular teacher here at Sew Always.
Supplies needed:
Sewing machine in working order
- coordinating thread
- basic sewing supplies ( scissors, pins, pencils , etc.)
- rotary cutter
- favorite ruler (straight edge)
- Chickadee Landing pattern (available at Sew Always)
For the star blocks
- 1 Layer cake or 1/4 yards of
- 10 tans
- 4 reds
- 3 golds
- 4 blues
- 5 greens
- 3 purple
- 2 pumpkin or orange
- 3 blacks
- back ground 1 5/8 yd tan or cream
- sashing 7/8 yd tan
- 1st border 5/8 yd red
- pieced border 1 1/8 yds tan or cream
- 3rd border 5/8 yd gold
- outer border and binding 2 3/8 yds black or navy
