Buttercup Bag
The Buttercup pattern is an easy bag to complete. The class will consist of making the bag along with modifications to the pattern that make completion of the bag easier. The pattern can also be modified to include customized pockets for the interior.
Supplies:
Sewing machine in working order
Coordinating thread
Rotary Cutter
Pins/ Wonder Clips
Scissors
Buttercup pattern (available at Sew Always)
Fabric Requirements:
Please come to class with basic bag units cut out:
Pellon FlexiFoam (rather than Soft and Stable) - 15”x16” quantity 2
Pellon Shape Flex for the medium stabilizer – 15”x16” quantity 2
Pellon Ultra Firm for the bag base (this is an optional item) – 5”x10” quantity 1
3/8 yard Outside Top of bag fabric
1 fat quarter Outside Bottom of bag fabric
1/2 yard Outside Accent strip Lining fabric
1/4 yard for Binding
If you are interested in modifying the pattern to include customized pockets for the interior add an additional 1/3 yard of fabric for the pockets and include 10”x20” of fusible Pellon Craft Fuse to stabilize the pockets.
